I was recently missing pancakes, but hadn’t made them since I became vegan and gluten-free, so I had no idea what to do. I also find that most pancake recipes are filled with sweeteners and unnecessary ingredients. So I decided to develop my own super simple, sweetener-free, vegan and gluten-free recipe! I also added on a delicious, clean, 2-ingredient sauce.

Read MoreYou guuuuys. You know that I eat super clean, but yo girl also loves SNACKS. I’m so excited to introduce you to Dirt Kitchen Snacks! They air dry veggies, some of which are rescued from being thrown out and wasted (total win for Planet Earth!), spice them up, and package them so they’re super portable and super delicious.
Read MoreI’ve been a huge fan of smoothie bowls ever since they became a thing (how did we ever live without them?!). But I’ve noticed that oftentimes, acai bowl bases in cafes are mixed with apple juice and other super sweet juices that I normally wouldn’t drink (plus they cost a fortune!).
Read MorePortland has always been one of my favorite cities: it's incredibly clean and green, it's foodie heaven, and everyone there is super weird. What's not to love!
Read MoreYa'll know I've been gluten-free for years, but recently I added vegan to my dietary choices. I don't know if you've noticed, but it's actually not that easy to find restaurants that are both gf AND vegan - seems like most places offer one or the other. So here's a little guide of my favorite restaurants to grab gf/vegan healthy fresh meals in San Francisco.

Read MoreOne of the simplest outfits I wore at NYFW was for a pink-themed #bossbabe brunch at While We Were Young. The night before, I went to a Sam Edelman event where they custom embroidered my jeans - I chose a cute, feminine rose patch and #bossbabe in pink handwriting.
Read MoreLittle-known fact about me: I'm not a huge fan of fiction in movies and books. Nor do I drink alcohol. So, Julia, why did you want to go to the Napa Valley Film Fest, you ask? Because: nature, gorgeous venues, documentaries, food presentations, and celebs ... duh.
Read MoreOne thing that my husband and I have in common is that we much prefer driving to flying, so naturally, we love exploring our state and the states around us on road-trips. Last week we drove up the coast to Eureka, which is a little town in the redwood forests of Northern California.
Read MoreI chose Project Juice because they're local and have an awesome 3-day green cleanse (Advanced Reset Juice Cleanse) with very little sugar. Brad chose the Classic Reset Juice Cleanse, and we were off! I was definitely worried about being hungry based on all of the reviews I read. But the truth is, I actually never got hungry.
Read MoreLast Thursday we spent the evening tasting special taco creations from 11 different local restaurants, and it was delicious! Many of the restaurants that participated don't have tacos on their actual menus, so it was amazing to see the recipes that the chefs came up with.
Read MoreI randomly found this place on Yelp when we were searching for acai bowls in Hilo - it's a nondescript storefront that doesn't look open, so we definitely wouldn't have found this if we weren't searching specifically for it.
Read MoreWe didn't find this amazing hole-in-the-wall cafe until the end of the trip, but it turned out to be one of our faves! They have a tiny menu - acai bowls, smoothies, beef or pork lunch bowls, and tacos - but the food is so delicious that it doesn't get old.

Read MoreSome of you know that I eat Paleo, which means no dairy, no processed sugars or processed foods, no alcohol, no gluten, minimal grains. Basically it's mostly meats and vegetables, and some fruit. It may sound terrible at first, but it makes you feel great, is super healthy, helps you naturally lose weight, as well as other benefits like clearer skin and more energy, and honestly it's not that difficult once you pass the 1-2 month addiction/craving period. I can go on and on, but I'll save that for a later post.
Read MoreBreakfast has always been a difficult meal for me. I'm often in a rush in the morning, so something quick and easy is best. Unfortunately, a lot of breakfast foods take time and effort, and those that don't are often very unhealthy. For a long time I just ate cereal or a baked good for breakfast, but a few years ago I went on the Paleo diet (meaning I cut out processed sugar, dairy, gluten, and alcohol from my diet, as well caffeine) - best decision I've ever made. It also meant that I had to find something else to have for breakfast.
