I moved into Starcity’s Penmar location last October. It’s an airy, bright, brand new building in Venice, California, and I fell completely in love with it! I’m linking all of my decor and furniture below.

This trend has been around for a few months now, but I hope it never goes away! Paperbag pants (and shorts) are seriously the comfiest and easiest to wear. No more belly donuts over low-cut jeans, or camel-toes of high-waists. Now women everywhere can enjoy a flattering high-cut, cinched waist with the looseness of pjs. Aahhhh... what dreams are made of. 

Ok, I'm FINALLY writing up this Seattle city guide from our trip in early June. Seattle is in my top 3 favorite cities (can you guess the other 2?), and I could absolutely see myself living there. It's a green wonderland - driving through the streets, you end up feeling like you're driving through a national park.

You guys, I found the CUTEST little one-piece swimsuit, and it's only $15.99!! I've been searching for the perfect one-piece - most I've found are too high in the front or the back, or cut too low around the hips, or show through too much. But not this one.

Since I started my own company 1.5 years ago, I've worked mostly from home. It never felt quite right to sit on the couch with my laptop, and the room where we put a desk was scattered with other random things, so I decided I really needed to put together an office where I love spending working hours.

Ok babes, let's get real: I've never owned a pair of pumps. Why? I always just figured that if I was going to wear heels and be uncomfortable, I'd go BIG. And if I wanted to be comfortable, I'd go flat.

A few weeks ago we visited one of our favorite cities - Seattle! We stayed at Embassy Suites in Pioneer Square, right across from Century Link Stadium. Tbh, prior to getting there, I didn't have super high expectations. Embassy Suites sounds old and fuddy duddy, right? I was so wrong!!!

I've been getting so many compliments on my skin recently, so I thought I'd share my recent beauty routine! I've been using these products since February and they are making my skin tone super even, and my face clearer than ever before.

I recently visited Chicago with the hubs. Aside from almost freezing to death (hah!), we had quite a lovely time eating and playing tourist. I lived in Chicago 10 years ago (not sure how I survived!), so it was fun to come back and revisit some of the same places, but also see how much the city has changed. If you know me, you know that Palm Springs is one of my favorite places to relax and take photos. It's an incredible desert oasis, pulled out of a different time, where phones don't get service and poolside brunch is a state of mind. 

Kimpton is one of my favorite hotel groups in the States, and luckily, I had the pleasure of staying at the Gray in Chicago (and their newest location, in LA: La Peer, look out for a blog post on that coming soon!). Each of Kimpton's hotels is unique, reflective of the city and neighborhood it's in, and incredibly luxurious, with signature accents like a gorgeous tub and shower combo.

A few months ago I noticed an interesting thing - only bloggers wear crop tops to work out. If you go to a sponsored blogger workout class, 95%+ of the girls there will be wearing a crop top, but in a normal fitness class, there may be one or two people max. "Normal" people always cover up. Why is that?

Ya'll already know I love floral prints, and they were so in for Fall. So I figured... why not keep it going into winter?

During my trip to the Napa Valley Film Fest, I had the incredible opportunity to stay at Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa! I'd never heard of this hotel before, and the name threw me off a bit, but oh my gosh, it's the cutest, hipster kitsch-iest, comfiest hotel with rooms that are made to look and feel like motorhomes, but in the best possible way.

Little-known fact about me: I'm not a huge fan of fiction in movies and books. Nor do I drink alcohol. So, Julia, why did you want to go to the Napa Valley Film Fest, you ask? Because: nature, gorgeous venues, documentaries, food presentations, and celebs ... duh.

Ya'll must know by now how much I love interactive art, so of course as soon as I heard that the Museum of Ice Cream was coming to SF, I knew I had to go there (duh!). MOIC LA didn't disappoint, and I had a feeling SF would be even better. And ... I was right! Here's a little peek into the experience.

So yes, I know, the boyfriend-shirt-as-a-dress look is kind of a love-it or hate-it trend, and I wasn't sure which way I was swaying until I met this one. The Layla Boyfriend Shirt from Two Feathers is extremely comfortable, and the high-low cut ensures that, while sexy, you aren't accidentally showing off your bum.

One thing that my husband and I have in common is that we much prefer driving to flying, so naturally, we love exploring our state and the states around us on road-trips. Last week we drove up the coast to Eureka, which is a little town in the redwood forests of Northern California.
